What is the Config.MSI Folder and Can I Delete it?

I had a problem the other day reinstalling Quickbooks for a customer. The program would not open and when I tried to reinstall it and an error appeared about not being able to overwrite some files in the CONFIG.MSI folder. Let me explain what the CONFIG.MSI folder is, where its located, and if you can remove it safely.

First of all, the CONFIG.MSI folder is a hidden folder on the root drive of Windows, usually Drive C. The folder is used by the Windows Installer process during an installation of software. It saves files with the extension of .RBS and .RBF. These are Rollback Script Files used by the installer to uninstall recent changes if an install fails somewhere along the way. The rollback script file (.rbs) is always stored in the Config.msi folder on the disk where the operating system is installed. The .rbf files are stored in the Config.msi folder located on the disk where the program that is being backed up currently resides. These can be two different drives.

Can the CONFIG.MSI folder and its files be deleted safely?

Essentially the CONFIG.MSI folder contains backups of files that are being installed or updated during a program installation. Upon a successful completion, this folder and files are deleted automatically. However, sometimes the installer program fails to remove these files. In this case, you may safely delete the CONFIG.MSI folder and files from your hard drive. Follow the steps below to access and remove the CONFIG.MSI folder.

Reboot the computer and try to download Windows Updates, if they still fail to install, continue with the next step.

Show Hidden Files and Folders

    Open My Computer
    Click on Tools, Folder Options
    Click on the View tab
Under the Hidden Files and Folders section, select "Show Hidden Files and Folders"
    Click Ok

Find CONFIG.MSI folder Using My Computer

    Open My Computer
Double-click on Drive C (or whatever drive Windows is installed on)
Look for the MSCONFIG.MSI folder (it should be a faded folder since its hidden)
Right-click on the MSCONFIG.MSI folder and choose Delete
Click Yes to confirm deletion of the folder and files
    Close the My Computer window

It is important to link your older posts as it is favorable for both the search engines as well as the human visitors. The users can explore the archives and the search engines will be able to crawl over the site efficiently. Whenever, you publish some new posts, spare a little time for linking your older posts.

6. Crediting all the sources that you have used
In case any content of your blog spot is an inspiration from somewhere else, then  make sure to credit that source. When you take up information from another site, be sure to give a link and mention the source as well.

Windows Seven features

Ever since Windows 7 was officially released back in October of 2009, the question on everyone’s mind has been: Will it be significantly better than its predecessors, Windows XP and Vista? The answer is a resounding yes! Here’s a brief rundown of the top 7 reasons.

1. Automatic Desktop Wallpaper Shuffling: Not everyone is a fan of desktops wallpapers that shuffle, but even some of the critics have been won over by this slick, built-in feature of Windows 7. There are tons of themes to choose from, thus offering something to suit virtually everyone‘s taste. Don’t like the current image? Not to worry. Just right-click on the desktop, and it quickly shifts to the next image.
2. Blu-Ray Support: As you probably realize by now, Blu-Ray won the hi-def DVD war. Although it will no doubt take many years for this format to become mainstream in all households, it is fully supported now in Windows 7. The operating system includes native functionality to read and write Blu-Ray discs.
3. Media Streaming: Not only does Windows 7 include many new codecs to support more file types, but it also allows you to stream media files from within Windows Media Player. You can stream files both from your network and from the Internet.
4. Multiple Instances of the Same Program: Have you ever wished you could easily open two, three, or even four instances of the same program? For instance, maybe you want to check your e-mail in one Internet Explorer window, manage your stock portfolio in a second window, and take over the Second Life world in a third. Well, Windows 7 lets you do just that. Simply hold down the SHIFT key while left-clicking on the first instance of the program in the Windows taskbar, and presto! A second instance is opened.
5. Windows XP Mode: Although most applications run just fine on Windows 7, there are a few that aren’t compatible yet. Microsoft seems to have anticipated this delay, so they’ve included a handy little feature called Windows XP mode. This feature allows you to run a fully functional version of XP from within Windows 7. It operates by means of a tool called Virtual PC.
6. DirectAccess: Experts are saying that DirectAccess may be one of the more compelling reasons that businesses will consider upgrading to Windows 7. This feature gives you a bi-directional link among your internal network and traveling machines, such as laptops, as long as they are connected to the Internet. Such direct connection allows users to access the network remotely, and gives IT personnel the ability to manage the remote machine as if it were running on the internal network. DirectAccess may thus provide a free alternative to expensive and complicated VPN systems. To make use of this feature, your network must be running Windows Server 2008 R2.
7. Faster Boot Time: While this point may not seem as glamorous as some of the other features, the fact is that Windows 7 may boot a stunning 20% faster than Vista! In one published test, the Windows 7 login prompt appeared 27 seconds after booting up, as compared to the 34 seconds it took Vista to load the same screen. While that difference may seem relatively negligible, in today’s fast-paced business world, decisions are made and customers are won or lost in a matter of seconds. Besides, an operating system that boots quickly shows that it is well-designed and cleanly written.

Fix Mac Safari YouTube Black Screen Blank Players

A common issue with Mac computers and the Safari internet browser is that sometimes YouTube videos display incorrectly, just display a black screen, or display a black player.

Luckily, if YouTube videos aren’t working correctly for you, the solution is quite easy. These next two steps should get you on your way to watching videos again in no time.

1. Change Safari Settings

The easiest and most simple way to fix this YouTube error is to adjust some simple settings within Safari. Navigate the path Finder – Applications. Scroll down your applications list until you find the Safari icon. Right-click the Safari icon and choose Get Info from the context menu.
Click the check box next to Open in 32-bit mode. Close and exit out of the Safari Info window.

Launch Safari and navigate Safari – Reset Safari – Reset to reset Safari. From here, YouTube videos should start working again and the blank player should be gone.

2. Uninstall and Reinstall Flash

If the above solution did not fix the YouTube problems, you should next try uninstalling and reinstalling Flash player. This is very easy to do.

Navigate to this webpage, select Macintosh and I want to uninstall Flash Player. After choosing your operating system, you will be prompted to download the Flash Player uninstall utility. Run the utility and uninstall Flash Player.

After Flash Player has been completely removed, head on over to Adobe and download and install the latest version of Flash Player.

After you have installed the latest version of Flash Player, navigate Finder – Applications – Utilities – Disk Utility. Select your hard drive from the list and Repair Disk Permissions.

Restart your computer and YouTube videos should be working.

Note: The two above steps will fix YouTube issues the majority of the time. If your YouTube is still not working, try using a different browser, such as Firefox. This way, you can check to see if YouTube works with your computer, but with a different browser. If it works with Firefox, go through your Safari Preferences and check for any incorrect settings.

Prevent Getting Banned From Adsense

Dont ever get banned from adsense if you have clicked your ads,by mistake…follow this technique

The way I keep this from happening is I temporarily block
the domain name Google’s ads are served from.

First, find your HOSTS file which depends on which os you are using.

Open Notepad or any text editor.   Go to File, and Choose Open.

If you have Windows 95, 98, or ME browse to the folder
“C:\windows”

If you have Windows XP Home browse to the folder
“C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc”

If you have anything else (Windows XP Pro, Windows 2000, NT,
2003, etc.) browse to the folder:
“C:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc”

Once you’re there, open the file called “hosts”. If you
don’t see anything listed just type the word hosts and the
file should open up. Just the word “hosts”, no extension or
anything after that. It’s probably blank but it might not
be.

Add this line:

127.0.0.1 pagead2.googlesyndication.com

And save. You’re done.

Now go back to a site that you know has some Google Ads.
There should be an empty space where the ads appeared.

Want to turn it off? Don’t just delete it, put a “#” sign in
front of that line, like this which is equivalent to commenting the statement:

# 127.0.0.1 pagead2.googlesyndication.com

What’s that do? It basically says “ignore this line.” I like
to leave it like that so when I want to hide Google Ads
again, all I have to do is remove the “#” sign and save –
then put the “#” back in when I’m ready to go back to
normal.

To me, making a quick change in your HOSTS file to turn
AdSense on and off is easier than fiddling around with a
firewall program.

Hope this helps.

Adsense and SEO Optimization Tips

Earn High Income From Sites:

1.Choose a high paying niche without too much competition.
Target a specific audience. You can search traffic for particular keywords and include such keywords in your post.

use keyword tool for it…

https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

2.Put your targeted-keyword on Page Title and posts.

3.AdSense Earning = Impression-count x Click-though-rate x Cost-per-click x smart-pricing-factor.

Impression count is basically referring to your traffic. It means the number of times AdSense block is displayed.
[ad]
Click-through-rate (CTR) is ratio of clicks per impressions. It can range from 0.1% to 30%, but most commonly around 1% to 10%.

Cost-per-click (CPC) is the earning you get per click. While traditionally it refers to the amount advertisers pay for each click, it can also mean the amount publishers get for each click.

Smart-pricing is AdSense method to determine how valuable clicks from your site is worth. If clicks on your site doesn’t provide good value to advertisers, e.g. from visitors’ geo-location that seldom translate to sales, you will only get a fraction of the supposed CPC.

4.Submit your website to directories for inclusion, e.g. dmoz.org, yahoo directories and other plog directories.Submit your URL to search engines for crawling.Create and submit your sitemaps to Google Sitemap (sitemap.xml) and Yahoo (urllist.txt). Optimize for different engines as well. You are very likely to face less competition than in Google.

5.Forum generally have high impressions count, but very low CTR.

6.Try to focus more on what visitors want from your site.New visitors have higher chance to click on the ads than regular visitors, thus higher CTR (click-through rate).Regular visitors have higher chance to recommend your site to others.

7.Get domain name that contains your targeted keyword.Try to update your site regularly and add more posts each day so that crawling will be done by search engine immediately.

Zoom in on images by hover

Many sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Amazon, eBay, and Wikipedia will show a larger image of small thumbnails images when you click them. Save yourself the time of having to click the image to view it by installing a browser extension that will show you the larger image by hovering the mouse over the image. In the picture to the right, is an example of a Twitter profile icon that is enlarged when hovering over the small icon in the Following section. Click the below link for the browser you are using to open the extension that will add this feature.

Link that skips to any time in a YouTube video

Easily create a link that can be posted or sent to friends that skips to a specific time in the video. This is a great way to quickly show anyone your favorite portion of a YouTube video and is a great way to make sure those friends with short attention spans don't miss out. In this example link you will notice it automatically skipped to 42-seconds into the video.
To create your own skip link, open any YouTube video, pause it on the section you want to start at, right-click on the video, and click the "Copy video URL at current time" link, as shown in the example picture to the right. Once this link has been copied you can paste it into any e-mail or web page.

Facebook keyboard shortcuts

Before using Facebook keyboard shortcuts, determine the modifier keys for your computer, which is based off what browser and operating system you are using.
Win & ChromeWin & FirefoxWin & IEOSX & FirefoxOSX & Other
AltAlt + ShiftAltFunction + CtrlOption + Ctrl
Once you have determined the modifier for your operating system and browser use the above key combination with any of the below 10 keys to perform the desired shortcut. For example, if you were using Firefox in Windows and wanted to go to the Facebook Home you could press Alt + Shift + 1.
Tip If you are using Internet Explorer, after pressing Alt + # let go of both keys and press Enter for the shortcut to work. For example, press Alt + 1 (let go) and then press Enter to open the Facebook home page. * Also, the M to open a new message in Internet Explorer does not work, since it is the home shortcut.
